Racquets & Fitness Club was founded in 1964 and is a
members’ club with an excellent reputation for the
promotion of tennis, squash, racketball and fitness in a
relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We hold the Gold
Charter Award from England Squash & Racketball and World
Class Performance Status, are an LTA Performance Centre
and are an accredited Olympic Centre for Excellence. We
have a history of hosting International sporting events
and many well known names from the world of tennis and
squash have appeared here. The Club was responsible for
initiating the first International all glass court
tournament on the stage of our Festival Theatre and has
a wealth of sporting successes throughout the years.
We have recently undergone an upgrade of our facilities,
have a thriving membership and are just about to embark
on a further development to our Clubhouse. We are proud
to support a team in the Premier Squash League.
Our facilities include 5 squash/racketball courts
including 1 glass back championship court where Premier
League Squash can be viewed; 12 all weather floodlit
tennis courts including a Kids Zone of 2 mini orange
courts - 3 courts are covered during the winter months;
a 2000 sq. ft. gym with a free weights/resistance
equipment area, a cardiovascular training zone with
cardio theatre entertainment systems; a large, light and
airy exercise studio with semi-sprung floor for our
classes and table tennis; spa, sauna and steam room; bar
& restaurant, outdoor terrace and car park.
